By role
What each role does in the Planche, and where to find it.
Administrator
Settings, reference data, kiosks.
Only the administrator sees the full administration menu: pilots, machines, airfields, flight types, trial-flight vouchers, ratings, settings and tablet pairing.
- Pair a tablet (QR code) with the right airfield.
- Check or correct a pilot's ratings (winch, tow, SPL, FI…).
- Choose whether pilot certification is required before validation.
- Turn on or off asking for the FFVP licence number to certify on the tablet.
- Set up the tow-plane log: billed pilots and flight types for warm-ups and test flights.
- Follow the sync with the ERP (pilots, machines, vouchers, flight types, validated flights).
Where: Pilots · Machines · Airfields · Flight settings · Fields (QR).
Resetting flights
Resetting deletes every flight, including those already sent to the ERP. It is off by default: turn it on only to empty a test dataset, never in operation.
Instructor / duty manager
Opens the day, validates flights.
Besides declaring their own flights, the instructor or duty manager opens and closes the Planche, manages the schedule and validates everyone's flights, from the member portal, Planche management tab.
- Open the day's Planche (even if none is open anywhere yet) and take the duty-manager role.
- Import Click&Glide attendance, or add someone by hand.
- Assign a machine to a present pilot, set up the winch and tow crew.
- Grant a rating on the spot (tow, winch…) without going through the administrator.
- Validate a landed flight from All flights, or validate everything at once.
- Correct an already validated flight (with a reason), as long as it hasn't reached the ERP.
- Close the Planche at the end of the day.
Pilot (glider)
Member portal or kiosk.
- Log in to the member portal.
- Declare a flight: machine, flight type, launch method.
- Press Take off, then Land, on the flight card.
- Edit, duplicate or delete the flight through ⋯ until it is validated.
- Certify the flight once landed — on the tablet, with the FFVP licence number if the club requires it.
- Open the My logbook tab: their record (FFVP, ratings), the year's totals and their flights, including as instructor, passenger or tow pilot.
TMG pilot
Autonomous flight, engine time required.
A TMG flies in "Autonomous" mode. The starting meter reading is asked when declaring, and engine time is required to validate the flight. Same for a plane, and for a self-launching glider launched "Autonomous".
- Declare the flight in Autonomous mode; the machine's last known meter reading is suggested.
- When landing: enter the final reading and the number of landings — engine time is computed.
- A flight without engine time stays incomplete and cannot be validated.
Tow pilot
Tow-plane log, warm-up, test flights, engine meter.
The tow-plane log replaces the paper tow sheet: no need to retype your name or work out a meter difference on every flight.
- Open your plane's log at the start of the day (yourself and the starting meter reading).
- Declare a warm-up if the engine runs before the first tow, or a test flight.
- For each tow: enter only the new meter reading — engine time is computed from the last one.
- Change pilot on the log if someone else takes the plane during the day.
- Declare a "plane flight" for yourself (the plane flies on its own, without towing).
- Close the tow-plane log at the end of the day.
Where: kiosk or member portal → Engine time → the plane.
Note
A pilot only appears in the tow-plane log pickers if their tow rating is up to date — an instructor can grant it on the spot.
Winch operator
Launch crew.
The winch has no per-flight engine time: the winch operator's role mostly plays out in the day's schedule.
- Hold an up-to-date winch rating (operator, trainer or trainee).
- Be listed in the "Launch crew — Winch" team of the schedule.
- Check that a winch-launched flight carries the winch as its launch machine.
Where: member portal → Planche management → Schedule.
