Managing flights
Flight management is built for the field: big buttons that read well on a phone, rare actions kept out of the way.
The Planche is organised in tabs: Planche (today's flights, as cards), All flights (the full list), Schedule and Engine time. On a phone the tabs sit at the bottom of the screen and the + Declare button stays within thumb reach; on a tablet they are at the top.
One card, one big button
Each card's big button is always the next logical action:
| Flight state | Button | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Declared | Take off | Records the takeoff time |
| Airborne | Land | Records the landing time (and the engine meter if the machine has one) |
| Landed, not certified | Certify | The pilot confirms the flight |
| Certified or validated | Duplicate | Prepares an identical new flight |
Everything else is behind the ⋯ button: Edit, Duplicate, Delete. Anyone can delete, after a confirmation, as long as the flight is neither validated nor from OGN.
Billing a flight
In Edit, the Billing section (collapsed by default) sets who is billed: a club account, the passenger, the instructor who pays for the lesson, or one of the two pilots of a shared flight who pays for all of it.
Engine time by machine
| Machine | What is asked |
|---|---|
| Pure glider | No engine fields |
| Self-launching glider | Meter and engine time only when launched "Autonomous" |
| TMG, plane | Starting meter required when declaring (last known reading suggested), final meter and landings when landing |
| Tow plane | Nothing on the towed flight: tow times are entered in the Engine time tab |
Certify or validate?
Certification (by the pilot) happens on the Planche tab. Validation (by the instructor or duty manager) happens on the All flights tab, which also filters and groups.
